Steiner May Be Alive Today

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Rudolf Steiner was alive today to further Anthroposophy and thus help mankind to evolve? The answer is obvious, and perhaps he is alive today, but working in a different, private way.
I have studied Anthroposophy and a wide variety of spiritual paths, Eastern and Western, along with a variety of psychic and parapsychological studies, both academically and existentially. Still I have no doubt about my fallability as a human being, and my approach to spirituality is 'colored' by this awareness. I am no seer, nor claim great clairvoyant insights, but also acknowledge a certain level of erudite judgement based on over 40 years of thinking, feeling and willing about these archetypes which Anthroposophy so well expresses. I acknowledge that my views are 'opinions' and I make few assumptions that they represent 'ultimate reality', other than in my own limited sense of judgement. It is in this light that I refer to the idea of a 'living' Rudolf Steiner, or one might say the 'living ideas' of Rudolf Steiner. If alive today, these ideas and insights would have a contemporary significance of almost unimaginable significance, as well as representating a continuation of Steiner's legacy, toward mankind's evolutionary fullfilment. Steiner focused on the Mystery of Golgotha as being the central 'turning point' in human, and indeed spiritual evolution. "It is necessary that the human being creates within himself a true and deep longing to understand this mystery. Anthroposophical spiritual science is our spiritual tool for this purpose."
I would strongly suggest that all earnest Anthroposophists consider the possibility that these spiritual truths brought to us by the incredible clarity of Rudolf Steiner, are with us today in the insights which are the product of the spiritual-scientific research and existential experience of Judith von Halle. With the benefit of whatever knowledge 40+ years of the pursuit of the knowledge, truth and meaning of life has graced me, , I strongly urge that you simply read a single book-'And If He Has Not Been Raised''; the first book of lectures by Ms von Halle, wherein she talks about the nature of her stigmata and the insights of her own spiritual-scientific research into the Mystery of Golgotha. Igtnoring her work risks the proverbial 'throwing out the (spiritual) baby with the bath water.' You have little to lose, other than the effort to read a small book, and possibly a wisdom like that of Steiner himself to gain. Please do yourself this favor. John Harris

g). Thus, Judith's research represents a new, continuing thread on what Steiner indicated as being both important and difficult. This is an example of the advanced initiate knowledge engendered through Ms von Halle, unmatched-in my opinion-by other Anthro research(ers).This topic, while open for discussion, will be further addressed after ongoing study of JvH's earlier research and experiences have been reviewed. Past posts on this subject can be found in earlier discussions and I have included an introductory post from January, before the excerpts..

....."Through the Mystery of Golgotha, "through thepenetration into the physical world of the Earth, through taking on a physical body, the sacrifice of Love transforming the Earth and mankind was enacted.Fopr this was an act which was done for mankind out of pure Love and in itself was not necessary for the evolution of the Godhead. After the Baptism the Christ Being walked for three years on the Earthy in the body of the Nathan Jesus. During this time the divine being penetrated more and more into physical matter-Christ experienced true humanity more and more in His being. He became more human. Consequentially, to free mankind from its subjugation to Lucifer....Christ descended into the depths of matter, at first into the body of Jesus in which he was ultimately tortured and crucified and then into the body of the Earth itself*. As this resulted in aprofound transformation of all matter---of the configuration as well of man's Man's being---- it is of great significance how Christ penetrated into the very last fibre of the physical body..At the beginning it was shown hoe the human being in his past evolution, through the development of his blood and breathing**, came to an initial 'awareness' of his self, his individuality.Precisely these two decisive physical features, which are totallt interwoven withthe activity of nthe self, were in turn through the sacrifice of Christ, worked on, transformed and spiritualized through and through And I would like to ask you to share in the events of the Crucifixion which were shown to me every Friday.....The scale of Christ's suffering is anyway immeasurable, and cannot be put into words as he was not accustomed to experiencing physical and material pain. Judith goes on to describe the terrible details of Christ's ordeal on the Cross, horrendous details perhaps never before revealed, which indicate an even greater level of suffering than generally acknowledged...."These measures caused Christ to die, not from the nails, not from the resulting bleeding, but from suffocation.From Rudolf Steiner we find explained that in this mystical process the 'egoistic blood' of mankind flowed out in exactly the right amount that was necessary. In the same way that the materialistic part of Lazarus had to die and leave his body as a symbol of the future and as an actual process belonging to the mysteries, so on the Cross did the Luciferi, egoistic blood of mankind flow vicariously from Christ's wounds..
"At the same timea second mysteryprocess occurred related to the transformation of the organ of breathing. The longer Christ hung on the Cross bound and tied in this extreme form the more onerous each breath became...." JvH
This tying and suffocation,explained in greater detail by Ms von Halle, were in addition to the Crucification nails. The mystical significance is referred to again in The Foundation Stone Meditation::

The Stigmata of Judith von Halle...A Perspective

Hello friends-
People in general and specifically Anthroposophists are tragically dismissing and ignoring the amazing, tremendously enlightening phenomena of the stigmatization and the unprecedented, completely unique spiritual scientific research being done into, not only the spiritual-physical nature of this manifestation, but even more importantly the insights into the nature of the Christ Being, Golgotha, and their relation to human and cosmic evolution. Judith von Halle is not only the first non-Christian (a semantic, but valid point) stigmatic, but the first and only highly clairvoyant, initiate Anthroposophist, to be 'afflicted' by this condition. And make no mistake, despite the ecstatic element of experiencing the Christ event, bearing the stigmata is a difficult and painful burden which causes existential pain as well as physical.To criticize and question this process in the antagonistic manner so common among these online groups, and even the official representatives of the A.S.-the Vorstand-shows not only "a lack of respect towards the fate of an individual person, it remains only to be said as a reminder that stigmatization is the living through of the events of the time of Christ, consciously and repeatedly, occurring under extreme physical, psychological and spiritual pain....Of course, the first question a person will often ask in the face of his karma is "why have I now been struck by fate? Looking deeper, however, a truth arises which Novalis has put into words: 'Everything that happens, I intend!' Here, of course, is not meant the everyday self nor the possibility of causing something like stigmata, rather it points to the sphere of the real true self, which reveals itself in karma." It is such karma which has engendered the situation and experience of Judith von Halle. These events were, at least not consciously-desired, nor were they a sudden visionary experiences of a person ignorant of the psychic forces inherent in such an experience. Rather Judith von Halle (JvH) is a highly developed, born clairvoyant and Anthro. who already exhibited 'classic' forms of initiate perception such as what Steiner called 'continuity' of consciousness', whereby the waking and dream states are no longer separated by unconsciousness, but rather a continuous stream of awareness. Nor does JvH seek notoriety, preferring a quiet humble anonymity...." please do not focus on my person but on that being who is acting through the phenomena.....a holy reverence toward the Christ Being should be present....
...I am coming round more and more to speak against the presentation of them as sheer miracles, and more and more for the concrete 'application' of Anthroposophy. These phenomena provide precisely the impulse to work epistemologically and not just believe.
Their apparent inexplicability prompts an Anthroposophist to penetrate the phenomena with awareness, to use Anthroposophy as a tool. It seems as if the spiritual world has placed this phenomena here in our Anthroposophical circle in order to challenge us to become active in two areas which as a result of their complexity and significance we often shy away from:
1. Serving with heart and soul to gain an awareness of the secrets of the Mystery of Golgotha.Rudolf Steiner pointed out again and again that he could only give a part of the essential insights into this mystery and that the other part is to be a fruit of knowledge in the future.
2. Striving to gain insight into the organization of the human body, for this is the sphere of the highest spiritual beings of the hierarchies. The first hierarchy is active in the physical body-not in the etheric, not in the astral, but in the physical body and this is connected from the very beginning with the Christ Being." JvH 04

It is hopeful that more members can begin to appreciate this profound event that exists to awaken and enlighten us within our Anthro world today, in this moment,.As the Buddhists liketo say:the only ultimate reality available to mankind exists in this very moment. They call this 'mindfulness.

A subject of great interest and significant recent spiritual scientific research is the spiritual nature of Earth and its relationship to man, as indicated in JvH's book 'Depths'. This is a subject we will be returning to, but I wanted to reference a book which offers considerable peripheral info on this theme:'Gaiasophy'(1989), by Kees Zoeteman. This extensively researched book is written from an Anthro context and offers an excellent synopsis of many basic themes and concepts. Highly recommended.

Motivation and Perception

JvH is a humble individual who values her privacy, and this privacy will be honored.. However she has become a public figure and as thus, a subject of speculation, especially given the 'psychic' phenomenology of the stigmata and her link to Anthroposophy. A natural question regards her motivation in 'going public', initially in a series of lectures, followed by the book 'Raised' which details her experiences and revelations. "The specific reason for the first lectures was the stigmatization of Judith von Halle occurring at Passiontide 2004....There are basically two prevailing tendencies when a judgement is made in relation to the phenomena of stigmatization. The facts are simply either denied or described as a sheer miracle.Here the attempt will be made on the basis of the spiritual-scientific knowledge of Rudolf Steiner to come at least to a preliminary understanding of the inexhaustable depths of this phenomena and and its decisive influence on the course of destiny...
Also"....the events of the life of Christ-the turning point in world history-experienced as a consequence of the stigmatization are described and explored by means of spiritual-scientific knowledge.Tied to this is the hope, and this is also an important reason for publication in book form, that these lectures may stimulate the reader to reflect patiently and repeatedly upon the Mystery of Golgotha, and to enter into an ever more close relationship to the Christ impulse." JvH comments further on her choice to deliver and publish her lectures..."The answer is not easy to give and it was a long, inner journey before coming to the decision to publish.....

.."many people who had heard or would have liked to have heard the lectures approached me with the request for a transcript. In addition, over time another aspect emerged:speculation and rumor-mongering, due primarily to inadequate awareness, arose as the news of my fate spread through the Anthroposophical movement and resulted, to some extent to my person being identified with the occurrence of the stigmatization...

...."The hope I have above all...is that consideration may be given to that which I place at the heart of my efforts to achieve through psychic and spiritual contemplation of the most decisive and fateful event.in the development of mankind a living and truthful relationship to the contemporary Christ. This alone is capable of being each single individual's most precious treasure and will be the quiet source of all selfless love and sympathy....

...."After several months of hiding the Stigmatization as well as a period of inner conflict and struggle over how to deal with the events in a dignified way, the decision was made to hold an internal presentation within the membership..."(JvH)

The first lectures provided explanation of both empiric and spiritual scientific understanding of stigmata as well as reference to Steiner's lecture cycle 'From Jesus to Christ'(Ga 131)

"But....Underlying the details...was another kind of psychic and spiritual experience than the direct perceptions of thr life of Christ.The other kind of spiritual experience encompases potentially every area imaginable. It is not connected to the phenomena of the stigmatizations, but was already present before it. It can be described as a psychic and spiritual awareness beyond the threshold to the spiritual world....

"There are two reasons though why I have now decided to say something about this spiritual awareness....some individuals had apparently had difficulties determining which statements originated from Rudolf Steiner and which ones from me. The confusion increased as these individuals sought vainly in Rudolf Steiner's Complete Works for details about the subjects dealt with."(JvH)

Careful reading clearly reveals distinctions between their separate spiritual research, and these distinctions are indicative of the depth of her spiritual perceptions, perhaps the only Rosicrucian initiate approaching Steiner's level of insight."The necessity demanded by Rudolf Steiner of speaking about truths one has lived through, the spiritual knowledge connected with them, and of describing them as well as possible was for me also a necessity.....
...The authentic experience of the events of the life of Christ caused by receiving the stigmata is radically different in its entire nature from the esoteric knowledge...which is only possible for someone living after the development of anthroposophical spiritual science....

...that which can be called the path of spiritual science was central to my life long before receiving the stigmata....I was already aware in a quite natural way of the cosmic home where my being arose...."
